After a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, our EDUCATE members have been back. We managed to meet up virtually during lock down, continuing the intergenerational choir with Stockport School pupils via ZOOM. We are now back to meeting up in person with our monthly meetings and choir rehearsals, which has been very exciting for everyone.

Keep checking this page and social media for our recent activities and campaigns!

Afternoon Tea at Stockport Plaza

Last month our Educators were treated to a lovely afternoon tea at Stockport Plaza - celebrating the success of the Doing Dementia Differently event in the summer!

Doing Dementia Differently 2023

Our Doing Dementia Differently - Big Band Extravaganza at Stockport Plaza!

Over 1,000 people attended including people living with dementia with their family and friends, and residents in local care homes.

A great afternoon of music from the New Lights Big Band, performances from the children at Stockport School, our intergenerational choir along with important messages about living with dementia.

Educator and former police officer Steve gave a talk to the National Association of Retired Police Officers NARPO this month about his lived experience of dementia. A brilliant talk as usual and very important to share. And to thank them for their very kind donation to EDUCATE!

Salford University

Two of our fabulous Educators - Sarah & Colin - gave a talk to Salford University mental health nursing students in March about their experiences of living with different types of dementia. Lots of great discussion and questions from the students!
