Navendu Mishra MP Surgery

Stockport MP Navendu Mishra invited our EDUCATE group to his MP surgery. We discussed the lived experience of dementia work we are doing and local issues for people living with dementia. 

Salford University Talk

Our Educators were invited to Salford University to talk to mental health students as part of their lived experience week. They received great feedback and positive to educate future health professionals about dementia.

Christmas Carol Concert 2023

Our Intergenerational choir performed at The Meadows Community Hospital for patients, relatives and staff.

Afternoon Tea at Stockport Plaza

Last month our Educators were treated to a lovely afternoon tea at Stockport Plaza - celebrating the success of the Doing Dementia Differently event in the summer!

Doing Dementia Differently 2023

Our Doing Dementia Differently - Big Band Extravaganza at Stockport Plaza!

Over 1,000 people attended including people living with dementia with their family and friends, and residents in local care homes.

A great afternoon of music from the New Lights Big Band, performances from the children at Stockport School, our intergenerational choir along with important messages about living with dementia.

NARPO

Educator and former police officer Steve gave a talk to the National Association of Retired Police Officers NARPO this month about his lived experience of dementia. A brilliant talk as usual and very important to share. And to thank them for their very kind donation to EDUCATE!

Salford University

Two of our fabulous Educators - Sarah & Colin - gave a talk to Salford University mental health nursing students in March about their experiences of living with different types of dementia. Lots of great discussion and questions from the students!
